Application Method

The application surface must be clean, sanded, preferably lightly roughened, dry, and rust-free to ensure proper adhesion. Sanding is the ideal preparation method. Afterward, the surface should be cleaned with a suitable degreasing solvent and the bonding process should be completed without allowing the surface to reoxidize.

Please refer to the mixing ratio chart provided inside the product packaging for the correct ratios of resin and hardener. Add the hardener to the resin and mix thoroughly for about 4 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. (For Alcon 5 Minute SF product, curing begins within 5 minutes, so mixing should be completed in 1–2 minutes.) Mix using both circular and upward movements.

For paste types, apply the mixture onto the prepared surface with a putty knife. For liquid types, first, apply a thin coat with a brush, then pour the remaining liquid slowly along the edges of the mold cavity to avoid air bubbles. Spread the mixed material over the repair area and work it firmly into the substrate to ensure maximum surface contact. Plastic Steel Putty (A) fully cures within 16 hours and can then be machined, drilled, or painted.
