Epoxy Resin and Bronze Powder Mixture

This mixture is used for maintaining all types of bronze and brass metals, repairing worn ship propellers and other worn brass components, and filling areas in bronze castings. It is ideal for repairing cracked bronze parts and filling bronze and brass alloys such as bushings and bearing parts.

Once the material hardens, turning, leveling, and grinding operations can be performed.

Application Method

Preparation of Bonding Material

The surfaces must be cleaned of water, oil, rust, and dirt. If the surface is shiny, it should be roughened using sandpaper or files.

Application

ALCON BR metal bond is provided in two components:

• 3 parts bronze-colored paste (by volume, 9 parts by weight)
• 1 part white hardener (by volume, 1 part by weight)

Mix thoroughly and apply to both sides of the bonding parts. Carefully align and join the parts. Allow time for curing.

Curing

Curing takes 4–6 hours at a room temperature of 25–30°C. For faster curing, expose the bonded parts to flameless heating at 70–90°C. The desired result will be achieved within 2–3 hours.

Applications

Used for maintaining bronze and brass metals, repairing worn ship propellers and brass components, filling bronze casting voids, and repairing cracked bronze parts. It is ideal for filling bronze and brass alloys like bushings and bearing parts. Once hardened, the material can be turned, leveled, and ground.

Warnings

• Store under lock and key, out of reach of children.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Rinse immediately with plenty of water if contact occurs and avoid contact with eyes.
• In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water.
• Use appropriate protective clothing, gloves, and eye/face protection.
• In case of an accident or if you feel unwell, consult a doctor immediately.
• Avoid releasing into the environment.
