Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
- The surfaces in contact with the silicone must be clean and dry, free of oil, dust, rust, and loose particles.
- Non-porous surfaces should be cleaned with a suitable solvent, and any solvent applied should be wiped off before it evaporates.
- Applying masking tape to the joints prevents staining and ensures precise application. The tape should be removed immediately after application.
- A primer is not required for non-porous surfaces such as tiles, ceramics, and glass.
- A primer may be needed for certain types of metal and plastic surfaces.
Application Method
- Cut the tip of the cartridge and screw on the application nozzle.
- Cut the nozzle at an appropriate angle and size depending on the joint thickness.
- Place the cartridge into a silicone gun and apply.
- Smooth the silicone within 5 minutes of application, preferably using your fingers, a thin plastic/wooden tool, or a dry spatula before it forms a skin.
- Clean any excess silicone immediately with a solvent, as cured silicone can only be removed mechanically.
Application Areas
- Bathtubs, shower cabins, sinks, tiles, kitchen and bathroom countertops.
- Window panes, door frames, joineries, and movable metal and plastic construction elements.
- General-purpose joint sealing works.
- Prefabricated structures.
Warnings
- Should not be used on mirrors or sensitive metals (e.g., lead, copper, brass, silver) due to acid release.
- Not suitable for natural stone and concrete surfaces.
- Adhesion loss may occur over time on surfaces that leach oil, solvents, or plasticizers.
- Not recommended for applications that will remain submerged in water.
- Should not be used on surfaces in direct contact with food or drinking water.
- Silicone sealants cannot be painted; therefore, avoid applying them to joints where painting is intended.
