ALCON Transparent Insulation Spray 400 ml

This spray forms a transparent, durable, and waterproof coating, enhancing the insulation resistance of electrical and electronic devices. It provides effective protection against corrosion and oxidation, extending the lifespan of components exposed to moisture and environmental factors.

Applications

• Coating and insulating coils, cables, traffic lights, electrical motors, billboards, parking barrier systems, outdoor lighting fixtures, underwater lighting systems, military vehicles, weapons maintenance, and maritime applications.

• Tack-Free Time: 10 minutes.
• Coating Time: 4 hours.
• Surface Dry: 30 minutes.
• Full Cure at 25°C [77°F]: 1 day.
• Curing Time at 80°C [176°F]: 1 hour.
• Theoretical Coverage: <800,000 cm² per gallon for a 1.0 mil film thickness.
• Recommended Thickness: 25–38 microns [1–1.5 mils].
• Shelf Life: 2 years.

Application Method

The product can be easily applied using a dipping or spraying technique. For optimal results, follow these steps:

1. Ensure the surface is free from scratches, dents, or raised metal burrs.
2. Clean the surface thoroughly, removing any grease, dust, or rust.
3. Mix the product thoroughly before use. For dilution, use xylene or similar solvents.
4. Spray evenly from a distance of 15–30 cm. Apply light and even coats.
5. For best results, apply 2 light coats with a 15–20 minute interval instead of one heavy coat.

Warnings

• Alcon Transparent Insulation Spray adheres well to copper and steel but is incompatible with surfaces contaminated by water, oil, or greasy residues.
• Clean the surface thoroughly before application.
• Store in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight or temperatures exceeding 50°C.
• Use in a well-ventilated area.
• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and eyewear during application.
• Keep out of reach of children.
